Gardens and Plants for All Seasons
From the middle of Winter and on through Spring, Summer, and Fall, Upstate SC is blessed to have year round garden interest. We have more than two decades of experience with our climate and conditions and the expertise to transform your yard into your own all seasons paradise!
Our winter weather is frequently mild compared to many other regions. While there are plenty of plants and trees with winter interest, many varieties of Camellia japonicas, sasanquas, and their hybrids will happily bloom through the cooler temperatures and shorter days.
Early spring flowers can turn your yard into a haven for pollinators. In addition to Camellias, Creeping Phlox, Lenten Roses, and Daffodils often bloom in late winter and early spring, giving butterflies and bees some much appreciated nectar.
Spring is one of the showiest seasons for Japanese Maples. Many varieties have outstanding spring foliage color, rivaling the most vivid of flowers.
Other trees add to the spring show. Purple leaved Redbuds and Plums, as well as Cherries and Dogwoods are colorful alternatives to Japanese Maples.
As growers of Proven Winner plants, we design with and install many of their patented varieties of Hydrangeas, Roses, Spireas, Rhododendrons, Butterfly Bushes, Azaleas and more for maximum spring blooms.
In addition to Proven Winners plants, we use a wide selection of other spring flowers. Irises, Daylilies, and other spring blooming perennials are good additions to sunny spots.
Our Upstate SC summer season can be quite hot. Fortunately, we have many plants that can tolerate the heat and still flower beautifully. Coneflowers, Dahlias, and Rose of Sharon will give showy mid summer blooms.
The end of summer doesn't mean the end of flowers in Upstate SC. Camellias and reblooming Azaleas are just a few plants to bloom in the fall.
Autumn also brings vivid color back to Japanese Maples. Many varieties have some of the most spectacular fall colors of any trees.
